Sarah Hughes Trust Prize
I received the 2024 Sarah Hughes Trust Prize for my investigation into private umbilical cord blood banks. I published my investigation into the stem cell industry’s false advertising claims and misleading practices, which primarily targeted expecting parents.
The investigation was published in the British Medical Journal.
NCTJ Award for Excellence
I received the 2021 NCTJ Award for Excellence in the Data Journalism category. While I was pursuing my qualifications in journalism, I published a data-driven piece about crime in Greater Manchester.
With persistent FOI requests, I became the first journalist to write about the Greater Manchester Police’s crime statistics since their failing IT system was implemented in 2019.
